After Half Term - Week 2 - Poetry and Reading Survey
Week 2 - Poetry and Reading Survey
This week, Monday to Thursday's lessons will be set around 2 poems, the same as last weeks English. I read some brilliant personification and alliteration poems last week, so keep up the brilliant work with this!
Friday's lesson will work slightly differently. As mentioned in the email, I am currently undertaking a Masters Degree and need a big favour from you all! For my degree, I will need to complete some research and need your help!
It is going to be looking into your views on reading, and I will be asking you to complete a short questionnaire on your computers at home. You then may also be invited to a group conversation known as a ‘focus group’ with some of your friends in class. This will be done later on when it is safe to do so and we are all back at school again. If you would like to help me in my research, then could you please sign a consent form that I have sent to your parents and ask them to send it back to me? It would be really helpful if you could all take the time to do this.
So that I do not take up any more of your time, I have decided to replace an English lesson with the survey (as the survey should take around 20-30 minutes to complete). This means you will not be doing any extra work, and as the survey is looking at reading, it relates to English too!
This is of course optional, but I would love it if you could help me out! If you are happy to take part, could you and your parents sign and send back the consent forms I have sent out please? If you could then that will be fantastic! I will then be in touch with a follow up email, containing a link to my survey. You can then complete this survey on Friday or any other time that best suits you.
Thank you very much with this and keep being brilliant! You are all doing so well!
