Our visit to Africa Alive and two examples of the stories we have written.

21st May 2021. This week we have been learning to use suffixes and prefixes to change the meaning of words.

Letters to and from Sir David Attenborough

Letter Writing

Look at our beautiful handwriting!

Below are two fantastic examples of the writing that the children have completed over the last couple of weeks of remote learning. First, they retold the story "The Tiger Who Came To Tea" and then they spent a week rewriting it with their own ideas!

I was blown away with the effort all of the children put into this piece of writing and I loved reading all of their work, seeing how they used their imagination to come up with ideas and their skills in English to produce some really high quality pieces of work.

Well done Year One!

Our own version of The Tiger Who Came To Tea

This week we have been retelling a story and will soon be moving on to writing our own version of the story.

I could not be more proud of the children and the effort they have put into their writing. They have been trying to take note of their targets, sounding out, trying to use cursive writing and challenges themselves.

Below are just a few examples of the hard work that I have see this week.

Well done Year One!

This week we have been writing acrostic poems about the war and remembrance day.

Our report of the alien crash landing using a word mat and "story map" for support.
