STEM afternoon (05.07.21)
Wildlife Trust visit at school (09.06.21)
Today, we were lucky enough to have the Wildlife Trust in all morning to work with our class on a range of fun activities! We had lots of fun using compass directions to navigate our way around the school field, we created maps of the school field using things we could find around us and we ended our morning with den building (we loved this most of all). Miss Pegg even had some fun of her own getting to spray the children in their dens with the 'rain' to see if the dens were waterproof.
Numbers Day! (07.05.21)
Today it was NUMBERS DAY! We had a a non-uniform day in which the children could wear anything, as long as it had numbers on it. As you can see, football shirts were very popular today! In the afternoon, we did some activities where we had to help a bee find its way across a honeycomb using our times tables. Then, we created our own for a friend to complete. We also went on laptops to compete in a class competition on TT Rockstars to see which class in the school, as well as in other schools, could score the most points!
Collage using natural materials (05.05.21)
In art, we have been looking at collage and all the skills required for this. This week we used natural materials we could find on the school grounds to create a collage. We then brought some materials in so that we could create a different collage on paper in a different shape. Can you guess what some of our creations might be?
Workshop with Butterflies of Britain (16.04.21)
Today the children were very lucky and got to have a workshop with the wonderful Butterflies of Britain. They did lots of hunting around the school field in search of bugs, birds, animals tracks and tree identifying through looking at their leaves. The children had lots of fun exploring all the nature we have at school and will be rewarded with receiving an Eco Warrior badge!
Using grid references - we were allowed to draw on tables today! (16.04.21)
Eco Warrior Statue making! (14.04.21)
This term our theme is Eco Warriors, so we asked all the children to bring any 'rubbish' from home such as cardboard boxes, yoghurt pots, plastic bottles etc. The children worked in small groups to create their own Eco Warrior statue that has special powers to help save our planet! As you can see our classroom got very messy today and we had lots of fun creating our models and sharing them with the rest of the class in a presentation later on. Check your child's Seesaw page to see the videos of their presentations they did in front of the whole class!
Dance Day (14.04.21)
CRAZY HAIR for Red Nose Day! (19.03.21)
Alice in Wonderland 'WOW' day!
When we returned after lockdown, we surprised the children by dressing up in Alice in Wonderland themed costumes. We then did a day full of fun activities all based around the story of Alice in Wonderland for our 'Off with her Head' theme for the Spring Term.
We wrote wonderful diary entries about Alice's adventures down the rabbit hole, played card games, did some fun maths with playing cards and produced some AMAZING artwork based on teacups - as seen at the Mad Hatter's tea party! Check out some of the fun things we got up to below!
Coin Trail for Children in Need!
Autumn Term 2020
For Children in Need this year the children were asked to bring in coins to create a coin trail in our classroom! 2 hours later and we finally finished and our coin trail was quite impressive as you can see from the photographs!
