The most important thing you can do over this latest lockdown is looking after your physical and mental wellbeing.
Therefore, try to stay active and do a range of activities during the day. This list I have made covers a range of subject areas which would be great for your overall wellbeing. This list is just a suggestion though, so feel free to do whatever activities you enjoy!
Even better, why don’t you send me through some of the fun activities that you have been doing. If you are happy, we could then share these with the class so they could have a got at it too!
List of fun activities by subject area:
General Wellbeing Activities - This could include going out for walks; playing or creating games (could you make a game that the whole class could play?); skyping friends and relatives; drawing; listening/playing music; baking/cooking; etc.
PE – Workout mornings with Joe Wicks - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAxW1XT0iEJo0TYlRfn6rYQ - Live workout sessions every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 9am. I will be doing these too to stay fit!
Art – Learning to Draw with Rob Biddulph - http://www.robbiddulph.com/draw-with-rob - Lots of videos showing you how to draw a range of animals and objects. He is also delivering live online Saturday art clubs at 10am.
Music – Music Myleene Klass - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQh2wgJ5tOrixYBn6jFXsXQ - Lessons delivered twice a week but can be accessed at any time.
ICT – Scratch - https://scratch.mit.edu/ - Create stories, games, and animations. You can save and share these and play with your friends too!
Dance – Dance with Oti Mabuse - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC58aowNEXHHnflR_5YTtP4g - You can learn how to do some of the Strictly dances with Oti at any time, with a range of dances on her YouTube channel.
Languages – Duolingo - https://www.duolingo.com/ - A good way to keep up with your French, or to learn a brand-new language. I am trying (and failing miserably) at learning Turkish!
English - Story Writing - http://www.pobble365.com/ - Perfect for story writing around a picture.
History – Horrible Histories - https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/shows/horrible-histories - enjoy some fun episodes on the iplayer, as well as playing games and quizzes on your favourite areas of history!
Geography – Live Wildlife Q&A’s with Steve Backshall - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm-URP49TgSgyIU1rgh2m7A - throughout the lockdown, Steve will be doing some live wildlife Q&A’s for you to ask any questions you may have.
Science – STEM online experiments and lessons - https://www.stem.org.uk/primary-science - some fun experiments and lessons you can do with equipment you have at home.
It would be great to see what activities you are all doing in your spare time! Send me any photos or videos of you in action! If you come across or think of any fun activities that others in the class might like, let me know and I can share these with the class! It is important we all look out for each other right now, so please keep in contact and look out for one another.
